Gavin believes alignment between corporate and personal values is really important. With 30 years of experience, he approaches projects holistically rather than within the framework of a particular discipline and often finds ‘another way’ to solve a problem. He relies on his career’s backstory and his numerous project & sector experiences as a resource to provide insights.

This ties in with ADP’s vision to ‘inspire a better world through influence and design’ and free-thinking engineering – the focus is on defining what the great environment is for the building, before considering traditional MEP solutions. This, combined with cross-disciplinary technical knowledge, is the birthplace of creativity and innovation.

As Northern Regional Director, Gavin enjoys the opportunity to build a committed and talented group of engineers – our ‘great people’. This involves mentoring them to focus on the relationships with their internal and external teams, and on delivering excellence in engineering. The scale of our office enables both informal and formal review and critique, making sure the more junior engineers have the benefit of senior staff experience.

For Gavin, the decision to take an ownership stake in ADP Consulting was based on how it would let him work with clients. ADP are small enough to be nimble and responsive, but with the size and breadth of disciplines required to service large and complex project opportunities. And ADP is Australian owned, so accountability for our services stays with us, and we can work in a way that is appropriate to the Australian context.
