With a 56 per cent improvement in staff satisfaction regarding health and productivity the project has been a great achievement for Frasers Property and the project team, promoting sustainability and wellness outside of what has traditionally lent itself to a CBD workplace.
Located in Rhodes, this building was originally designed and built for industrial use before being converted to office use. The fitout covers two storeys, with a large void created to open the connection between the two floors. This also serves as a presentation theatre with a large projector screen and a wide stair designed as both seating and access between floors.
With Frasers Property having an internal sustainability group and promoting green design, the project is targeting a 6 Star Green Star Interiors rating v1.1. It is only the second in Australia to receive this highly coveted WELL Building certification, with a GOLD rating and only one of 16 globally (GOLD certification).
As part of the design, services were exposed posing challenges with achieving Green Star & WELL building requirements for buildings services. One solution, provided by ADP, was the design of downlights with adjustable colour temperature to mimic the changes in daylight during working hours and achieve the melanopic lux levels required as part of the WELL Building rating.
